Two thousand candles light up the 17th-century château and its formal French gardens, casting a warm glow across one of France‘s most celebrated historic estates. Your Vaux-le-Vicomte Candlelit Evening Experience includes a refined dinner, fountain displays, access to a champagne bar, and a gold and silver fireworks show to wrap things up.
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel for a comfortable private transfer to Vaux-le-Vicomte, sharing fascinating stories about French history during the 45-minute journey.
Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte has been pioneering candlelit evening visits since 1980 — the first château in France to do so — creating an atmosphere that feels genuinely unlike anything else. Doors open at 5:30 PM, giving you plenty of time to wander the château bathed in soft, warm light before darkness falls and the gardens come alive, lit by thousands of individual candles.
You'll get to take in all 33 hectares of Le Nôtre's formal French gardens alongside Le Vau's striking architecture and Le Brun's richly detailed paintings — every corner of the estate glowing in the light of 2,000 candles. Relive, for an evening, the magic of the legendary fête of August 17, 1661.
